Dr. Astrid Werner
About Me
Dr. Astrid C. Werner is a board-certified ophthalmologist with the New England Eye Center’s Glaucoma and Cataract Service. She serves as Vice Chair of Clinical Services for the Tufts Department of Ophthalmology and as Medical Director of the NEEC Wellesley office, and she leads the Comprehensive Ophthalmology Service.
Dr. Werner completed her ophthalmology residency at the New England Eye Center/Tufts Medical Center and then pursued a Glaucoma Fellowship at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. Her clinical interests include adult and adolescent glaucoma care, the medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma including minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), and cataract surgery. She also treats patients with glaucoma and cataracts and helps them understand their options for ongoing eye care.
She attended Tufts University School of Medicine and completed an internal medicine internship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
