Dr. Andrew Lee

Dr. Cynthia L. Montana is a comprehensive ophthalmologist who provides general eye care, cataract surgery, glaucoma care, and diabetic eye care. She sees patients through WashU Medicine Physicians and serves as Director of the University Eye Service, where she supports high-quality, patient-centered care in a teaching-clinic environment. Dr. Montana brings a strong academic foundation to everyday eye care and focuses on careful exams, clear communication, and helping patients make confident decisions about treatment and long-term vision health. She completed an ophthalmology residency at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Dr. Montana earned her medical degree and a PhD in Molecular Cell Biology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, and completed undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia. She has been recognized with a Dean’s Impact Award for dedication to community engagement.

Dr. Margaret M. Reynolds is a pediatric ophthalmologist who cares for infants, children, and teens with eye conditions that can affect vision development and long-term eye health. She evaluates and treats strabismus (eye misalignment), retinopathy of prematurity, pediatric cataracts, nasolacrimal duct obstruction, inherited eye diseases, and pediatric eye tumors such as retinoblastoma. Dr. Reynolds completed fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis after an ophthalmology residency at Mayo Clinic. She earned her medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College and completed undergraduate studies in biology at Creighton University. Her clinical and academic work includes interests in genetic eye diseases, low vision rehabilitation, and how vision care can be tailored for children with diverse needs. Dr. Reynolds partners with families to explain diagnoses clearly and to create practical care plans that support a child’s day-to-day function and future vision.

Dr. James T. Walsh is a uveitis specialist who cares for patients with inflammatory eye diseases that can threaten sight and quality of life. He partners closely with each person to clarify the diagnosis, explain treatment choices in plain language, and coordinate care with referring doctors when systemic conditions are involved. His goal is to protect vision while minimizing treatment burden and side effects. Dr. Walsh is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. He completed a fellowship in uveitis at Johns Hopkins after ophthalmology residency at the University of California, San Diego. He earned both his MD and a PhD focused on adaptive immune responses in traumatic optic neuropathy from the University of Virginia. His research interests include immune activation and trafficking in uveitis, and he brings this scientific perspective to individualized, evidence-based care.
