Dr. Amy Nicholas

Dr. Amy Nicholas is a comprehensive ophthalmologist and cataract surgeon who has been providing medical, laser, and surgical eye care to central Maryland communities since 2013. She sees patients for a wide range of eye conditions including cataracts, glaucoma, pterygia, and ocular surface diseases such as dry eye. Dr. Nicholas has a special interest and expertise in bladeless laser cataract surgery and the use of advanced intraocular lens implants, including toric lenses to correct astigmatism and multifocal lenses to help patients reduce their dependence on glasses after cataract surgery.

Dr. Nicholas completed her medical degree at Georgetown University Medical School, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. She then completed her ophthalmology residency at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital/Medstar Washington Hospital Center. She is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Nicholas offers comfortable, convenient, same-day ambulatory eye surgery at the Montgomery Surgery Center and Frederick Surgical Center. Her clinical interests include laser cataract surgery, glaucoma laser treatment, and the management of ocular surface disease and dry eyes.
