About Me
Dr. Amir Guerami is a retina specialist in Los Angeles, focusing on vitreoretinal diseases and surgery. He completed multiple internships at the National Eye Institute of the National Institutes of Health before attending Georgetown University, where he graduated with honors in Biology and Psychology. Dr. Guerami then graduated from the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
He stayed at the University of Maryland to complete his residency in Ophthalmology, serving as Chief Resident. Dr. Guerami then trained in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery at the University of British Columbia, a high-volume intensive surgical training program in North America. He returned to Baltimore to serve on the faculty of the University of Maryland as Clinical Director of the Department of Ophthalmology and Director of the Retina Division until moving to Los Angeles in 2013.
Shortly after his move, he was selected by his peers as one of Southern California’s Rising Stars and has been named to the Super Doctors list each year since 2019. Dr. Guerami sees patients at multiple locations in the Greater Los Angeles area.
