About Me
Dr. Alexander R. Harris is a board-certified ophthalmologist providing comprehensive eye care at the Burrstone Campus of Slocum-Dickson Medical Group in New Hartford, NY. He is dedicated to offering state-of-the-art treatments and remains at the forefront of ophthalmology to ensure the highest level of care for his patients and their families.
Dr. Harris completed his ophthalmology residency at SUNY Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, where he also served as chief resident. He earned his medical degree from The Commonwealth Medical College of Pennsylvania. Inspired by his father, who was also an ophthalmologist, Dr. Harris is committed to patient-centered care and utilizes advanced technology, including femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery.
He provides treatment for a wide range of eye conditions, including cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and dry eye. Dr. Harris is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Outside of medicine, he enjoys fitness, the Adirondacks, music, piano, and guitar.
