About Me
Dr. Alan Sugar is an ophthalmologist at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center, specializing in diseases of the cornea and refractive surgery. He holds the title of Professor Emeritus at the University of Michigan Medical School. Dr. Sugar provides comprehensive care for a wide range of corneal conditions, including corneal dystrophies, infections, ulcers, and dry eye syndrome.
He is experienced in corneal transplantation techniques such as Descemet Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty (DMEK) and corneal cross-linking, and he also performs cataract and refractive surgery. Patients with herpes simplex keratitis, herpes zoster of the eye, and ocular surface tumors benefit from his expertise.
