About Me
Dr. Adam Wenick is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist who specializes in diseases of the retina, macula, and vitreous. He received his undergraduate degree from Yale University and then earned both his medical degree and a PhD in molecular genetics from Columbia University. Dr. Wenick completed his ophthalmology residency and vitreoretinal fellowship at the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he subsequently served on the faculty for 13 years. During his tenure at Wilmer, he held leadership roles in resident retina education and directed the retina fellowship program.
Dr. Wenick provides comprehensive medical and surgical retinal care for a wide range of conditions, including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusion, macular hole, epiretinal membrane, and retinal detachments. He also treats children over the age of one with retinal disease. His clinical expertise is complemented by active research involvement, having authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and participated in dozens of clinical trials.
Recognized for his excellence, Dr. Wenick has been named a Top Doctor in the Washington, D.C. area by Bethesda Magazine and Washingtonian Magazine. He is an active member of the American Society of Retina Specialists and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
