Dr. Young Choi

Dr. Young H. Choi is a board-certified ophthalmologist recognized as one of America’s top ophthalmologists in Southeast Alabama. He owns and serves as medical director of the Young H. Choi, M.D. Eye Surgery Center in Vestavia Hills, with over 15 years of practice. Dr. Choi emphasizes a personalized approach, taking time to listen to patient concerns and educate them on all treatment options while guiding them through each step of care.

He specializes in refractive cataract surgery and glaucoma treatment, with expertise in procedures such as laser cataract removal, refractive lens exchange, and glaucoma surgeries including selective laser trabeculoplasty and goniotomy. Dr. Choi is known for his skill in refractive surgeries like LASIK and SMILE, and was the first in Alabama to use the Zeiss VisuMax femtosecond laser for precision refractive surgery.

Dr. Choi completed his medical education and training at Loma Linda University, including a general surgery internship and ophthalmology residency, followed by a focused fellowship in refractive surgery. He continuously updates his skills with the latest advancements to improve patient outcomes.
