Dr. William Hammonds

Dr. William M. Hammonds is a board-certified ophthalmologist and corneal specialist with over 20 years of experience performing LASIK. He completed specialized fellowship training in corneal disease and refractive surgery at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, which is nationally ranked as the #1 eye care center in the United States.

Dr. Hammonds has performed over 30,000 LASIK, cataract, and corneal surgeries. He serves as the team eye physician and sole LASIK provider for the Carolina Panthers and the Charlotte Hornets. Prior to joining Accuvision LASIK, he performed refractive surgery at TLC Laser Eye Centers in Charlotte.

Dr. Hammonds earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he served as chief resident, and then his cornea fellowship at Bascom Palmer. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and specializes in all-laser LASIK, PRK, and advanced laser-assisted cataract surgery with various lens implant options.
