About Me
Dr. William J. Flynn is a board-certified ophthalmologist with fellowship training in glaucoma. He provides comprehensive eye care with a focus on cataract surgery and all areas of glaucoma, including traditional and microinvasive glaucoma surgery, laser treatments, and medical management. Dr. Flynn also treats dry eye disease and presbyopia correction.
Dr. Flynn has extensive experience as a clinician and researcher, serving as the director of clinical research programs and principal investigator for numerous nationwide clinical trials related to glaucoma, cataracts, dry eye disease, and presbyopia. He has taught cataract and glaucoma surgery to residents at various institutions and holds academic appointments at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio and the Uniformed Services University.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Flynn is dedicated to community service. He volunteers at the I Care San Antonio Eye Clinic and participates in international humanitarian surgical missions. Through the American Glaucoma Society CARES program, he provides free surgical glaucoma care to uninsured and underserved patients.
