About Me
Dr. William J. Curtis is a board-certified ophthalmologist at Kentucky Eye Institute with over 25,000 procedures performed throughout his career. He specializes in cataract and implant surgery, providing comprehensive eye care with a focus on cataract extraction and lens implantation.
Dr. Curtis earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed his ophthalmology residency at the Center for Sight at Georgetown University. He further advanced his training with a fellowship in advanced cataract surgery at Kentucky Eye Institute. Prior to his civilian practice, Dr. Curtis served as a combat surgeon in Kuwait and Iraq during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He has been practicing at Kentucky Eye Institute since 1995 and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
