About Me
Dr. Walter Harris is an ophthalmologist with over three decades of experience in helping patients restore their vision and improve their eye health. He founded Rittenhouse Eye Associates in 1989 and is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Harris completed his internship in internal medicine at Hahnemann Hospital and his residency in ophthalmology at the Medical College of Virginia. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and The College of Physicians of Philadelphia, and has served as Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology at Drexel University College of Medicine. He is also an adjunct professor at the Sidney Kimmel College of Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University and Wills Eye Hospital.
Dr. Harris believes that making patients feel comfortable is a critical part of the care process and that compassion counts. He emphasizes mastering technology to improve lives with the latest treatments and procedures. His practice offers comprehensive eye care, including cataract surgery, glaucoma management, LASIK, and treatment for conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and dry eye syndrome.
