Dr. Jeffrey Mcmahon

Dr. Jeffrey F. McMahon is a board-certified ophthalmologist and attending physician on the Cataract and Primary Eye Care Service at Wills Eye Hospital. He provides comprehensive eye care and specializes in a range of advanced surgical procedures, including cataract and anterior segment surgery, complex cataract extraction, and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS). Dr. McMahon also offers laser refractive eye surgery (LASIK/PRK) and has a particular interest in the latest intraocular lens technologies for vision correction. He is committed to building strong patient relationships and delivering compassionate, top-notch care for a wide variety of eye conditions.

Dr. McMahon completed his ophthalmology residency at Wills Eye Hospital, where he was selected as Co-Chief resident. He then joined Weill Cornell Medical College as a full-time teaching faculty member, serving as the consult service director and receiving the Donald J. D’Amico Teaching Award for outstanding resident education. He has published numerous peer-reviewed research articles in clinical ophthalmology and resident education, and he frequently lectures at national and international conferences.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. McMahon is actively involved in global ophthalmology, having participated in medical mission trips to Kenya, Haiti, and Peru. He also supports educational initiatives in Tanzania and Austria. Dr. McMahon plans to continue his international efforts through Wills Eye Hospital's Academic Global Ophthalmology program.
