Dr. Vivek Kumar

Vivek Kumar, MD, is a comprehensive ophthalmologist dedicated to practical, patient-centered eye care. He provides routine and urgent evaluations as well as surgical and in-office treatments for common eye conditions. His interests include cataract surgery, dry eye care, and glaucoma management. Dr. Kumar also explores how artificial intelligence can be used responsibly to improve access and efficiency in ophthalmology.

He earned his undergraduate degree in Biology & Society from Cornell University and completed both his MD and MBA at New York University. Dr. Kumar finished an internal medicine internship at Greenwich Hospital and an ophthalmology residency at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center. He enjoys caring for patients from all walks of life and focuses on clear explanations and shared decision-making.
