About Me
Dr. Vaishnavi Balendiran is a fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon who cares for patients with both common and complex retinal conditions. She combines meticulous surgical technique with a warm, down-to-earth approach, helping patients understand their diagnosis and every treatment option—from advanced small-gauge vitrectomy to office-based therapies. Her clinical interests include diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, macular holes and epiretinal membranes, uveitis, and retinal detachment.
Dr. Balendiran earned her medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University, completed ophthalmology residency at the University of Missouri, and a vitreoretinal fellowship at the University of Missouri. In addition to patient care, she is active in research and clinical trials exploring innovative treatments for retinal disease, and serves as an assistant professor of ophthalmology.
