About Me
Dr. Timothy M. Boyce is a vitreoretinal surgeon at University of Iowa Health Care who cares for people with complex medical and surgical retina conditions. He involves patients in shared decision-making and has special clinical and research interests in uveitis and inherited retinal diseases. In clinic and in the operating room, he treats disorders such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, macular holes, and retinal detachment, and performs advanced vitreoretinal surgery tailored to each person’s needs.
Dr. Boyce earned his MD from the University of Oklahoma and completed ophthalmology residency at the Casey Eye Institute in Portland, Oregon. He then pursued fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery at the University of Iowa. He also holds a BS in Neuroscience from the University of Miami.
