About Me
Dr. Tianyu (Tom) Liu is a fellowship-trained vitreoretinal specialist who manages the full spectrum of medical and surgical retinal disease. He earned his medical degree at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, completed an internal-medicine internship at Reading Hospital/Tower Health, and finished ophthalmology residency at the Scheie Eye Institute at the University of Pennsylvania. He then completed a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship with Associated Retinal Consultants in Royal Oak, Michigan.
Dr. Liu’s clinical interests include retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy and diabetic macular edema, age-related macular degeneration, retinal tears, floaters and flashes, and intravitreal injection therapy. His work has been recognized with honors such as the Ronald G. Michels Fellowship Foundation Award, and he has been elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha and Gold Humanism Honor Societies.
