About Me
Dr. Thomas A. Barnard is a board-certified, fellowship-trained vitreoretinal specialist at Florida Retina Institute. He diagnoses and treats a range of retinal conditions, including retinal detachment, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, macular holes, and retinal vein occlusion. Dr. Barnard provides personalized care to patients at his Lake Mary, Florida office and other locations throughout the region.
Dr. Barnard joined Florida Retina Institute in July 1998 and has been recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor since 2024. He is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and has contributed to peer-reviewed research on complex retinal conditions. He has also served as a sub-investigator in FDA clinical trials advancing treatments for macular degeneration and retinal vascular disease.
