About Me
Dr. Tamer Hadi is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon who provides comprehensive medical and surgical care for diseases of the retina and vitreous. He earned a joint MD-PhD at the Medical College of Virginia, after undergraduate studies in Bioengineering at UC Berkeley and a master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering at UC Davis. Dr. Hadi completed ophthalmology residency at Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals Eye Institute, where he served as surgical chief resident, followed by a vitreoretinal fellowship at the Gavin Herbert Eye Institute at UC Irvine. He has also served as a clinical instructor at the VA Medical Center in Long Beach, recognized with a teaching award for his dedication to trainee education. In practice, Dr. Hadi treats conditions such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, vein occlusions, and retinal detachment, offering therapies from intravitreal injections and lasers to complex retinal surgery. He is known for thoughtful counseling and tailoring each plan to protect sight over a lifetime.
