Dr. Tamara Fackler

Dr. Tamara K. Fackler is a medical retina specialist at Chesapeake Eye Care and Laser Center, bringing over 20 years of clinical experience to the Annapolis area. Board certified in ophthalmology, Dr. Fackler focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of retinal conditions. She uses advanced imaging technologies such as high definition OCT, digital fluorescein angiography, and fundus autofluorescence to carefully evaluate and manage her patients’ retinal health.

A recognized specialist in the treatment of wet (neovascular) macular degeneration, Dr. Fackler offers therapies including Lucentis and Eylea and has performed over 18,000 intravitreal injections. Her expertise also extends to diabetic retinopathy, diabetic macular edema, central serous retinopathy, choroidal neovascularization, and retinal vein occlusions. She provides both laser and injection therapy to manage these conditions and prevent vision loss.

Dr. Fackler’s background includes a biochemistry degree from Harvard University and a medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. She completed her ophthalmology residency at The Washington Hospital Center and pursued advanced fellowships in corneal and external diseases at the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins and in retinal diseases at Duke University Medical Center. She is an active member of the American Society of Retina Specialists and participates in clinical research on macular degeneration and retinal vein occlusions.
