About Me
Dr. Tala Al-Khaled is a cataract and glaucoma surgeon certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. A graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago GPPA BA/MD program, she completed ophthalmology residency at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary followed by a glaucoma fellowship, where she trained in the full surgical and clinical spectrum of glaucomatous disease and complex cataracts.
Dr. Al-Khaled performs advanced cataract surgery with modern lens options and offers the latest glaucoma procedures—including microinvasive glaucoma surgery and tube-shunt implantation—to reduce eye-pressure burden and protect vision. She complements surgical skill with careful counseling and shared decision-making so patients understand risks, benefits, and alternatives. Her academic interests include technology-enabled education and tele-ophthalmology, and she has authored peer-reviewed publications and society presentations.
