About Me
Dr. Steven Carrubba specializes in diagnosing and treating conditions affecting the front of the eye, including the cornea, lens, and ocular surface. He manages a range of eye problems such as dry eye disease, keratoconus, pterygium, Fuchs dystrophy, and corneal infections. His surgical expertise includes minimally invasive cataract surgery with advanced technology lenses, as well as full and partial corneal transplantation. Dr. Carrubba also performs refractive surgery evaluations to determine patient candidacy for procedures like LASIK or PRK.
He completed an advanced fellowship in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery at Duke University, following his ophthalmology residency at NYU Langone Medical Center where he served as chief resident. Board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Carrubba is dedicated to helping patients preserve their vision and quality of life through thorough education and personalized care.
Dr. Carrubba has received multiple research awards and authored publications on complex corneal diseases, with his work featured in high-impact journals such as Lancet and Cornea. He is committed to mentoring trainees and volunteers with youth organizations in his community.
