About Me
Dr. Stephen Walters is an ophthalmologist who specializes in the medical and surgical care of glaucoma and cataracts. He offers both routine and complex cataract surgery and treats glaucoma with traditional and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), including iStent, Kahook/TrabEx goniotomy, XenGel stents, and cyclophotocoagulation (G6 and micropulse).
He earned his undergraduate degree at Miami University of Ohio (B.A., Zoology, cum laude) and received his M.D. from Wayne State University in Detroit, where he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha. He completed ophthalmology residency training at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City and then a glaucoma fellowship at Columbia University.
Dr. Walters is an assistant professor of ophthalmology at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine and works with residents in the glaucoma clinic and operating room. He has contributed to peer-reviewed publications and has presented at regional and national ophthalmology meetings.
