About Me
Dr. Stephen J. Zuckerman is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained corneal surgeon specializing in corneal disease, cataracts, and laser refractive surgery. He was one of the first doctors in the United States to perform PRK and LASIK eye surgery when it emerged more than 25 years ago. In 1993, Dr. Zuckerman was involved in clinical trials of the Excimer laser for vision correction, contributing data to the FDA that helped lead to its approval.
As a specialist in cataract surgery and corneal disease, Dr. Zuckerman has extensive experience in corneal transplants using techniques such as penetrating keratoplasty (PK) and Descemet stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK), as well as pterygium excision and astigmatic keratotomy (AK). He has trained many other surgeons in these techniques and lectures nationally and internationally.
Dr. Zuckerman has been a partner at Connecticut Eye Consultants since 1994, providing care to patients at the practice's Danbury and New Milford offices.
