About Me
Dr. Spencer Harris is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has returned to his hometown of Idaho Falls to provide compassionate, high-quality eye care. His medical journey began with an honors degree in Finance from Brigham Young University before he discovered his fascination with the eye's intricate anatomy and the physics of vision at the University of Washington School of Medicine. This interest, combined with the profound impact of ophthalmic surgeries, led him to pursue a career in ophthalmology.
Dr. Harris completed his ophthalmology residency at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco and further honed his expertise through a cornea and refractive surgery fellowship at Duke University. His professional interests center on complex cataract surgery, refractive surgery, and cornea transplants, where he combines precision and innovation to deliver exceptional patient outcomes. He is also involved in global ophthalmology, having performed cataract and corneal transplant surgeries in Guatemala and Sierra Leone.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Harris leads an active lifestyle with enthusiasm for racket sports, golf, and snowboarding. An avid traveler and photography enthusiast, he enjoys exploring new cultures and landscapes, bringing the same curiosity and energy to his personal pursuits as he does to his medical practice.
