Dr. Sonya Blizzard

Dr. Sonya Blizzard is a fellowship-trained pediatric ophthalmologist who provides specialized eye care for infants, children, and teens, as well as adult patients with strabismus. She evaluates vision development and treats a wide range of pediatric conditions, from amblyopia (“lazy eye”) and misalignment to eyelid and tear-duct concerns. Her goal is to help families understand what is happening and feel confident about next steps.

Dr. Blizzard completed undergraduate studies at Columbia University and earned her medical degree from Yale University. She received ophthalmology training at Johns Hopkins University and completed fellowship training at the Duke Eye Center in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus. In North Idaho, she offers comprehensive pediatric eye exams and both medical and surgical management when needed, with an emphasis on compassionate care and age-appropriate communication.
