Dr. Sonya Bamba

Dr. Sonya Bamba is a board-certified ophthalmologist and cornea and refractive surgeon with advanced fellowship training in cornea, external disease, refractive surgery, and ophthalmic pathology. She specializes in corneal transplantation, complex cataract and lens surgery, and anterior segment reconstruction. Dr. Bamba has over 10 years of experience as a clinician and surgeon, and she also serves as a teaching attending, supervising residents and teaching cataract, anterior segment, and corneal transplantation surgery.

Dr. Bamba is highly skilled in performing thousands of eye surgeries, including laser cataract surgery, ocular surface tumor removal and reconstruction, and the latest corneal transplant techniques such as DSEK and DMEK. Her work focuses on complex eye pathology and challenging surgical cases. She is dedicated to cultivating strong doctor-patient relationships through clear communication, fostering trust and a better understanding of eye health and disease management.
