Dr. Shauna Berry

Dr. Bryce Buchowicz is a neuro-ophthalmologist who evaluates visual problems that arise from the brain, optic nerve, and complex neurologic conditions. She provides consultative care for unexplained vision loss and works closely with referring ophthalmologists, neurologists, and neurosurgeons to diagnose and manage issues such as idiopathic intracranial hypertension, optic neuritis, thyroid eye disease, and pituitary-related visual changes. Her goal is to deliver careful, evidence-based assessments and clear guidance that helps patients and families understand the path forward. Dr. Buchowicz holds appointments in both Ophthalmology and Neurology and completed fellowship training in neuro-ophthalmology after a neurology residency. She enjoys caring for patients with challenging, multi-system conditions and collaborates across specialties to personalize care.

Dr. Julia Byrd is a board-certified pediatric ophthalmologist who cares for children and adults with strabismus across the Tampa Bay area. She diagnoses and treats amblyopia, eye misalignment, pediatric cataracts, tear duct disorders, retinopathy of prematurity, pediatric uveitis, congenital eye conditions, and ocular trauma. Families appreciate her calm, thorough explanations and her focus on creating treatment plans that work in real life for growing kids and busy caregivers.Originally from New Mexico, Dr. Byrd graduated cum laude in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Vanderbilt University and earned her medical degree from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. She completed ophthalmology residency at the John A. Moran Eye Center, University of Utah, and advanced fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Before settling in Florida, she cared for children at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and later practiced in Montana. Dr. Byrd is committed to friendly, accessible, and precise care—whether prescribing glasses, guiding patching therapy, or performing delicate eye surgery.

Dr. Raul F. Hernandez Rubio is an oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgeon specializing in functional and cosmetic eyelid, lacrimal, and orbital procedures. He completed medical school and ophthalmology residency at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he served as chief resident, followed by fellowship training with Cockerham Eye Consultants in San Diego. He provides precise, natural-looking results and works closely with patients to align treatment with their goals and daily life. Dr. Hernandez Rubio’s interests span reconstructive surgery for eyelid malpositions and skin cancers as well as cosmetic enhancements using injectables and laser therapies. He values communication, safety, and staged care plans, taking time to explain options, expected recovery, and long-term outcomes. Outside the clinic, he enjoys culinary arts, photography, and time with his dogs.
