Dr. Sean Kim

Dr. Sean Kim is a vitreoretinal surgeon who treats the full range of medical and surgical retina conditions for patients across Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. He provides careful, step-by-step explanations and works with patients to choose treatments that balance vision, safety, and recovery time. Dr. Kim’s clinical interests include age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular occlusions, retinal detachments, macular holes, and epiretinal membranes, as well as secondary intraocular lens care and complex ocular trauma. He earned his medical degree at Penn State College of Medicine, completed ophthalmology residency at Penn State, and pursued fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery at the University of Nebraska. Fluent in English and Korean, he values communication and compassionate, individualized care.
