About Me

Dr. Scott Jamerson is a board-certified ophthalmologist and retina specialist serving patients in West Virginia. He completed his medical degree at Marshall University School of Medicine and then pursued ophthalmology training at the West Virginia University Eye Institute, where he served as chief resident. Dr. Jamerson further specialized through a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Retina Specialists of Ohio, joining Retina Consultants in 2011.

Dr. Jamerson's clinical focus includes surgical and medical management of retinal conditions such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal tears and detachments, and macular holes. He is experienced in vitrectomy, scleral buckle procedures, laser treatments, and intravitreal injections. His approach to patient care is guided by the belief that success is measured by how many people's lives are better for having met you, and he strives to educate and comfort each patient by answering every question.

As a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American College of Surgeons, and the American Society of Retinal Specialists, Dr. Jamerson stays current with emerging therapies and techniques. Outside of the clinic, he enjoys spending time with his family, flying as a private pilot, and serving as a certified member of the National Ski Patrol.
