About Me
Dr. Sarah G. Bonaffini is an ophthalmologist and corneal specialist with additional training in ocular surface and anterior segment surgery. She provides comprehensive, patient-centered care ranging from advanced cataract surgery to modern corneal transplantation and vision-correcting laser procedures. Her clinical style blends thoughtful counseling, precise surgical planning, and a focus on comfort and safety—so patients feel informed and confident at every visit.
Dr. Bonaffini earned a B.S. in Neuroscience (with minors in Chemistry and Classics) from the University of Pittsburgh and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from LECOM Bradenton. She completed ophthalmology residency at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, serving as Chief Resident with mentorship from Wills Eye Hospital faculty, followed by a fellowship in Cornea Surgery and External Disease at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Her interests include corneal transplantation, refractive surface procedures, and optimizing visual quality in patients with coexisting corneal disease.
