Dr. Truc Nguyen

Dr. Truc Nguyen is a board-certified ophthalmologist and cornea specialist who provides advanced eye care for patients in Manahawkin and Forked River, New Jersey. He specializes in cataract surgery using the latest sutureless techniques and offers advanced premium multifocal, presbyopic, and toric intraocular lens implants to help patients achieve clear vision with reduced dependence on glasses. Dr. Nguyen also performs micro-invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGs), including the use of microstents, canaloplasty, and goniotomy, to effectively manage eye pressure and glaucoma. His expertise extends to corneal conditions, with extensive experience in both traditional full-thickness corneal transplants and partial transplant techniques such as DMEK, DSAEK, and DALK, as well as anterior segment reconstruction.

Dr. Nguyen is affiliated with Southern Ocean Medical Center and AtlantiCare Surgery Center in Little Egg Harbor. He is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the New Jersey Academy of Ophthalmology. He completed his ophthalmology residency in Syracuse, where he served as chief resident, and then pursued a fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at the University of Rochester, where he also served as a clinical instructor. Dr. Nguyen has been caring for the South Jersey community since 2011 and joined Southern Shores Eye Center in 2015, bringing his specialized skills to patients in the region.
