About Me
Dr. Sara Stoneburner is a board-certified ophthalmologist who provides comprehensive eye care to patients in the Greensboro area. Her clinical expertise includes anterior segment surgery, particularly small incision cataract surgery with intraocular lens implantation. She diagnoses and manages corneal and external diseases, performing procedures such as corneal transplants and pterygium surgery. Dr. Stoneburner also offers medical and laser treatment for glaucoma and performs eyelid surgery. In addition, she provides primary eye care services, including comprehensive eye exams and contact lens fittings.
Dr. Stoneburner completed her medical education at Duke University School of Medicine, followed by an internal medicine internship at Duke. She then completed an ophthalmology residency at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and a fellowship in cornea and external disease at the University of Pittsburgh Eye and Ear Institute. She is affiliated with Moses Cone Health System and the Surgical Center of Greensboro.
