About Me
Dr. Sandhya Iyer is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery and the medical and surgical management of corneal disease. She treats conditions such as cataracts, corneal diseases including keratoconus, pterygium, and ocular surface disorders. Dr. Iyer performs a full range of advanced corneal transplantations, including endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK and DSEK), deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK), and full-thickness penetrating keratoplasty. Her patient care approach is informed by extensive training and experience across multiple continents and health systems.
Dr. Iyer brings a unique perspective to her practice, having completed ophthalmology training at institutions in India, the United Kingdom, and the United States. After a decade in academic medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where she trained residents and fellows in cataract and cornea surgery, she joined Ophthalmology Associates of Fort Worth. Dr. Iyer is dedicated to providing specialized eye care to patients in the Fort Worth and Tarrant County area.
