About Me
Dr. Richard S. Hoffman is an ophthalmologist specializing in cornea and external diseases, cataract surgery, and refractive surgery. He provides comprehensive eye care to patients in Eugene, Springfield, and Florence, Oregon, with a focus on conditions affecting the cornea, including corneal transplantation and excimer laser refractive surgery. Dr. Hoffman has extensive training in advanced cataract surgery techniques and the management of glaucoma, and he is experienced in minimally invasive glaucoma shunt implantation.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Hoffman holds an academic appointment as Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the Casey Eye Institute, Oregon Health & Science University. He is a certified physician investigator and has been involved in numerous clinical trials for intraocular lenses, refractive surgery lasers, and ophthalmic drugs. Dr. Hoffman has authored more than 370 publications in ophthalmic journals and has received multiple awards for his teaching videos and presentations.
Dr. Hoffman is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and has been recertified multiple times. He is a member of several professional societies including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, where he serves on the executive committee.
