About Me

Dr. Joseph Mando is a board-certified ophthalmologist and advanced eye surgeon in Eugene, Oregon. He specializes in premium-lens cataract surgery and laser vision correction with LASIK and SMILE. He also treats complex anterior and middle-segment problems, including pseudoexfoliation syndrome and dislocated intraocular lenses, as well as corneal conditions such as Fuchs’ corneal dystrophy and keratoconus. Dr. Mando earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine, completed an ophthalmology residency at the University of Kentucky, and pursued fellowship training in Cornea, Anterior Segment, and Refractive Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern.

Growing up around his family’s optical business sparked his interest in how optics can improve sight. He values staying current with new surgical and technology advances and takes time to discuss options, lens technology, and expected outcomes so patients can meet their vision and lifestyle goals. Outside of work, he enjoys time with his wife and daughter and exploring the Pacific Northwest through running, hiking, fishing, and gardening.
