Dr. Rafael Hernandez

Dr. Rafael Hernandez Sr. is a board-certified ophthalmologist and the founder of Eye Consultants & Surgeons of Miami. He specializes in comprehensive and general ophthalmology, providing a wide range of eye care services.

Dr. Hernandez studied medicine at the University of Havana Medical School and completed an internship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach. He then pursued a full ophthalmology residency at the Truman Medical Center, University of Missouri in Kansas City, and began his private practice in 1972.

Throughout his career, Dr. Hernandez has served as president of the Cuban Ophthalmological Association and the Miami Ophthalmological Society. He is affiliated with numerous professional organizations and is known among his peers and patients as an honest, caring, and knowledgeable physician.
