About Me

Dr. Prema Abraham is a board-certified eye physician and surgeon specializing in the treatment of vitreoretinal and macular diseases. She provides care to patients in Rapid City, as well as in Pierre, South Dakota and Gillette, Wyoming. At the Retina Center within the Black Hills Regional Eye Institute, Dr. Abraham evaluates and treats a wide range of retinal conditions using advanced equipment. She actively participates in clinical research trials exploring new treatments for diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and vein occlusions.

Dr. Abraham has served as the acting Medical Director of the Black Hills Regional Eye Institute since 2001. She brings extensive experience to her practice, having completed her medical degree at the University of Arkansas College of Medicine, followed by an internship and residency at the University of Utah School of Medicine, and a vitreoretinal fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital.
