About Me
Dr. Taylor J. Slingsby is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in medical and surgical retina care. As a retina specialist, he manages a wide range of retinal conditions including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachments, and vitreous disorders. Dr. Slingsby is dedicated to providing personalized treatment plans using the latest advancements in retinal surgery and medical therapies.
In his role as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine, Dr. Slingsby is actively involved in teaching and mentoring medical students and residents. He also maintains hospital appointments at Monument Health Rapid City Hospital, where he offers inpatient retinal consultations and surgical services. This academic and hospital involvement ensures that his practice integrates current research and multidisciplinary care.
Dr. Slingsby completed his specialized training with a retinal fellowship at the Cincinnati Eye Institute in Ohio, following an ophthalmology residency at the University of Colorado. He earned his medical degree from the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine. Practicing at Slingsby & Huot Eye Associates, he sees patients at the main office in Rapid City and several satellite locations in Pierre, Spearfish, Belle Fourche, and Chadron, making expert retinal care accessible across South Dakota and Nebraska.
