About Me
Peter Veldman, MD, is a highly skilled ophthalmologist who specializes in a wide range of eye conditions at UChicago Medicine. He is a Professor of Ophthalmology and Visual Science and part of the UChicago Medicine Faculty Physicians. Dr. Veldman is board certified in ophthalmology and has been practicing since 2012.
Dr. Veldman provides expert care for conditions such as Bell's Palsy, corneal diseases including dystrophy, infections, scarring, and transplants, as well as cataracts, dry eye syndrome, and diabetic eye diseases. His surgical expertise includes complex anterior segment surgery. He also treats herpes simplex keratitis, herpes zoster (shingles), keratoconus, pterygium (surfer's eye), conjunctivitis (pink eye), and red eyes, offering comprehensive eye care.
