Dr. Peter Clark

Dr. Christopher R. Fortenbach is a vitreoretinal surgeon and physician-scientist who cares for the full range of retinal and macular disease. As an Assistant Professor at the University of Washington, he treats conditions such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment and tears, macular holes, and inherited retinal dystrophies, and manages complex inflammatory and vascular diseases of the retina. Patients can expect clear explanations, evidence-based treatment plans, and close follow-up tailored to preserving sight and quality of life. Dr. Fortenbach completed ophthalmology residency and a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He earned an MD and a PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology at UC Davis, where his research explored how retinal neurons encode light. Board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, he continues laboratory work focused on therapies to restore vision loss. In clinic and in the lab, his goal is the same: compassionate care informed by rigorous science.

Dr. Dallin Andersen is a vitreoretinal surgeon who cares for the full range of retinal conditions—from sudden problems like retinal detachment and flashes or floaters to chronic diseases such as macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Patients describe him as steady, attentive, and meticulous, with a knack for translating imaging and surgical options into a plan that makes sense. He completed ophthalmology residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where he served as chief resident and received the “Golden Hands” award for surgical excellence, followed by a two-year vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Midwest Retina. At Spokane Eye Clinic, Dr. Andersen offers evidence-based treatment informed by his involvement in numerous clinical trials for retinal disease. Whether managing a macular hole, monitoring injections, or guiding recovery after surgery, his goal is to protect sight and support patients and families every step of the way.

Dr. Minh Trinh is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in the medical and surgical care of retinal and vitreous diseases. He treats conditions such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment and tears, and uveitis, offering modern diagnostics and individualized treatment plans. Patients value his calm, clear communication and his commitment to partnering on decisions that protect and restore vision. A Seattle native, Dr. Trinh completed ophthalmology residency at Northwell Health in New York City—serving as chief resident—followed by a two-year surgical retina fellowship at the Cincinnati Eye Institute. He earned his MD from the University of Colorado School of Medicine and completed undergraduate studies at the University of Washington with a focus in bioengineering. After a decade away, he returned home to join Washington Retina in 2024. Dr. Trinh cares for patients across the South Sound and is fluent in English and Vietnamese.
