About Me
Dr. Parnian Arjmand is a vitreoretinal surgeon specializing in the medical and surgical management of vitreous and retinal conditions. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto with a focus on immunology, followed by a master's degree and medical school at McMaster University. Her training includes an ophthalmology residency at the University of Ottawa and a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the University of Toronto, where she served as chief fellow.
Dr. Arjmand practices at the Mississauga Retina Institute, Burlington Laser Eye Centre, and Baycrest Health Sciences Centre. Her surgical expertise encompasses vitrectomy for macular diseases such as macular hole and epiretinal membrane, diabetic eye disease, retinal detachment, and complex anterior segment surgery for aphakia and intraocular lens complications. She is actively involved in clinical research and has received awards and grants for her work.
Double board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, Dr. Arjmand is a member of several professional societies including the American Society of Retina Specialists. Outside of medicine, she enjoys running, scuba diving, skiing, and is proficient in English, French, Persian, and medical Spanish.
