About Me
Dr. Mrinali Gupta is a vitreoretinal surgeon specializing in diseases and surgery of the retina. She joined Retina Associates of Orange County in 2020, after serving for five years as a Vitreoretinal Surgeon and Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City. Dr. Gupta provides comprehensive care for retinal conditions including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal tears and detachments.
Dr. Gupta is a leader in retina education and professional development. She serves on the Board of Directors for the American Society of Retina Specialists and as Co-Chair of its Early Career Section. Her educational roles include serving on ASRS education committees and as Vice President of Education for the Vit-Buckle Society. She has been honored as "Faculty Teacher of the Year" and co-directs national surgical training courses for retina fellows.
Her medical education includes a Doctor of Medicine degree from Duke University, where she received the E. Arthur Palumbo Scholarship and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. She completed her ophthalmology residency at Harvard Medical School and a fellowship in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Gupta is committed to advancing retina care through clinical research and has authored over 80 textbook chapters and research publications.
