About Me
Dr. Eifrig is a fellowship-trained vitreoretinal specialist who treats a wide range of conditions affecting the retina, macula, and vitreous. After earning his medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, he completed a transitional internship and an ophthalmology residency at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, where he served as Chief Resident. He then pursued a vitreoretinal medical and surgical fellowship at the same institution, becoming Director of Ocular Trauma and Emergency Services.
Dr. Eifrig's clinical focus includes age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, macular pucker, retinal tears and detachments, and retinal vein occlusion with macular edema. He has also served as Team Eye Surgeon for a National Hockey League team and remains active in clinical research and peer review for ophthalmology journals. Dr. Eifrig is dedicated to providing expert, compassionate care for patients with sight-threatening retinal conditions.
