About Me

Dr. Mohammad Soleimani is a cornea, cataract, and refractive surgery specialist dedicated to restoring comfort and clarity for patients with complex anterior segment disease. His clinical practice spans corneal transplantation, advanced cataract procedures (including femtosecond laser–assisted techniques), refractive surgery, and ocular surface reconstruction with stem-cell–based approaches. He joined UNC’s Kittner Eye Center in 2024 as Professor of Ophthalmology and serves as Vice Chair of Quality and Cornea Fellowship Program Director. Dr. Soleimani trained in medicine, ophthalmology residency, and a cornea fellowship at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, followed by clinical and research fellowships in ocular surface and regenerative medicine at the University of Illinois Chicago. He has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and mentors the next generation of cornea specialists.
