About Me
Dr. Emerson is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in vitreoretinal diseases. He provides care for conditions affecting the retina and vitreous, offering medical and surgical treatments. He earned his undergraduate degree in biochemical sciences from Harvard University and his medical degree from Yale University. He completed his internship at the University of Hawaii, his ophthalmology residency at the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins, and a vitreoretinal fellowship at the Casey Eye Institute at Oregon Health & Science University.
Prior to joining the Retina Center, he served as Assistant Chief of Service at the Wilmer Eye Institute and Assistant Director of the Wilmer Trauma Center. He also received training in pediatric and adult ocular oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Emerson is a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists and was honored with the Ronald G. Michels Award.
