About Me
Dr. Geoffrey G. Emerson is a retina specialist at Retina Consultants of Minnesota in Minneapolis. He provides expert care for a range of vitreoretinal conditions, including diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, epiretinal membranes, macular holes, and retinal detachment. Dr. Emerson is board certified in ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American Society of Retina Specialists (FASRS).
Dr. Emerson serves as President of the American Society of Retina Specialists and is an Adjunct Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota. He completed his medical training at Yale University, followed by an ophthalmology residency at the Wilmer Eye Institute of Johns Hopkins and a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the Casey Eye Institute in Portland, Oregon. His research contributions have been recognized with multiple awards, including the Mitchell Prize and Julia Haller Prize.
Dr. Emerson is committed to advancing the field through his leadership and academic work. He lives in Minneapolis and enjoys tennis and cross-country skiing.
