About Me
Dr. Michael Hood is a board-certified ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon who provides medical and surgical care for retinal disease. After growing up in Oklahoma City, he completed undergraduate training at the University of Oklahoma and went on to medical school at the University of Oklahoma. He then pursued ophthalmology residency training at the University of Tennessee, including service as chief resident.
Dr. Hood’s clinical interests include retinal detachment repair, macular conditions, diabetic retinopathy, and age-related macular degeneration. He also offers retina-focused procedures such as vitrectomy surgery, intravitreal injections, and retinal laser treatment. In addition to patient care, he participates in clinical research and clinical trials aimed at advancing treatment options for retinal disease. He is dedicated to helping patients understand their diagnosis and feel confident in their care plan.
