About Me
Dr. Michael Roh is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained specialist in vitreo-retinal surgery. He has been in private practice with the South Coast Retina Center since 2006 and sees patients in Torrance, Long Beach, and Huntington Beach. He provides care for a wide variety of retinal conditions, including diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, macular pucker, macular hole, retinal detachment, and retinal vascular occlusions.
Dr. Roh graduated with Cum Laude honors from Duke University, where he majored in Biology and minored in East Asian Studies, and was awarded the prestigious Sirena WuDunn Memorial Scholarship. He earned his medical degree with Honors from the Ohio State University College of Medicine, ranking in the top 10th percentile of his class. He completed his ophthalmology residency at George Washington University, serving as chief resident, and received his fellowship training in vitreo-retinal surgery in Birmingham, Alabama. He has volunteered his surgical expertise in Honduras and is an active member of several professional societies, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists.
