Dr. Michael Giovingo is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has completed advanced fellowship training in glaucoma. He sees patients at Northwest Eye Specialists and also serves as the Director of the Glaucoma Service and Ophthalmology Research for Cook County Health and Hospital Systems.

Dr. Giovingo is highly experienced in the surgical and laser treatment of glaucoma, including incisional glaucoma surgery, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, and glaucoma laser therapy. His practice also encompasses advanced cataract surgery and laser-assisted cataract surgery. He trains residents in advanced glaucoma and anterior segment surgical techniques.

Actively involved in research, Dr. Giovingo has published and presented at international meetings on glaucoma laser therapy, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, glaucoma pathophysiology, and innovative medical therapy for the condition.
